Waterloo has changed significantly over the last decade, and the Green Square renewal has added a set of purpose-built public spaces that make community participation easier for NDIS participants. The Green Square Aquatic Centre is one of Sydney’s newest and most accessible pools — a popular destination for participants who enjoy swimming or hydrotherapy. Right beside it, the Green Square Library is a striking community building with accessible facilities, community events, digital access, and a genuinely welcoming space to spend time.

Green Square Town Square is a large outdoor public space surrounded by cafes and restaurants — good for a quiet coffee, a casual walk, or a social outing. Green Square Station connects to the T4 Eastern Suburbs line and the Sydney Metro, with the city reachable in under ten minutes. For participants who prefer to stay local, Waterloo Park in the middle of the suburb has open lawns, tree cover and a community garden.

Upcoming: just over in Alexandria, Tegrity and the City of Sydney are running a free 10-week Get Active Sports Program at Perry Park every Wednesday 10am–12pm from 15 July to 16 September — basketball, soccer and badminton, open to everyone.
