NDIS support rates: transparent pricing

Tegrity Services charges at the NDIS price limits — the maximum hourly rates set by the NDIA each year in the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. We do not charge a premium above the price limit, and we do not add fees outside what your plan funds.

All NDIS supports are GST-free. The rates below cover support work and coordination only — activities you attend (gym fees, market entry, transport fares) are separate personal costs not funded through your support worker line.

2026–27 rates apply from 1 July 2026. The NDIA updates the Pricing Arrangements annually. Current rates are published at ndis.gov.au/providers/working-provider/provider-pricing-arrangements. Your service agreement will confirm the exact rates that apply to your supports.

Support work rates: how they are structured

Support work rates are not a single flat figure — they vary by time of day and day of the week. The NDIA sets a standard weekday daytime rate as the base, then applies percentage loadings for other times. Loadings reflect the higher cost of staffing evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Time periodWhen it appliesLoading vs weekday daytime
Weekday daytimeMonday–Friday, 6:00am–8:00pmStandard (base rate)
Weekday eveningMonday–Friday, 8:00pm–midnight+10%
Weekday nightMonday–Friday, midnight–6:00am+21%
SaturdayAll hours+40%
SundayAll hours+80%
Public holidayAll hours on gazetted public holidays+120%

The loading percentages above are standard NDIA ratios that have been consistent across recent pricing years. The base weekday daytime rate is updated annually — check the current Pricing Arrangements at ndis.gov.au for the specific dollar figure in the current year.

Your shift time determines which rate applies. A support worker shift that starts at 7:30pm and ends at 9:30pm spans two rate periods: the first 30 minutes at the weekday daytime rate, the remainder at the evening rate.

Community participation: group vs individual rates

Community participation (social and community participation) can be funded as 1:1 support or as group support. Both draw from Core Supports, but the cost to your plan is very different.

With group support, the support worker’s hourly rate is divided across participants. The NDIS sets maximum rates for each group ratio:

RatioParticipants per workerCost to your plan per hour
1:1 (individual)One participantFull hourly rate
1:2 (group)Two participantsApprox. 56% of hourly rate per participant
1:3 (group)Three participantsApprox. 40% of hourly rate per participant
1:4 (group)Four participantsApprox. 31% of hourly rate per participant

Group rates are not simply the hourly rate divided by the number of participants — the NDIS applies a slight premium above a straight division to reflect the additional coordination involved. The figures above are approximate. Your service agreement will confirm the exact rates for each group ratio.

Tegrity’s Wednesday rec group runs as a small group with consistent participants, typically at a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to use community participation funding.

Support Coordination rates

Support coordination is funded from Capacity Building, a separate budget line from Core Supports. There are two levels:

Plan implementation, provider sourcing, budget monitoring, plan review preparationSee current NDIS Pricing Arrangements
Specialist Support Coordination
(07_004_0132_8_3)
Complex situations: crisis management, complex needs, multiple system coordinationHigher rate — see current Pricing Arrangements

Support coordination does not have time-of-day loadings — the same rate applies regardless of when coordination tasks are completed. Your plan will specify the total dollar amount funded for coordination, not a number of hours. The hours available to you depend on the hourly rate at the time.

What is included in the support worker rate

The hourly rate covers the support worker’s time and the provider’s obligations as an employer and registered NDIS provider. It includes:

  • Worker wages and employer on-costs (superannuation, workers compensation)
  • NDIS Worker Screening checks and ongoing compliance
  • Insurance and registration costs
  • Administration and scheduling
  • Training and professional development

It does not cover: activity costs (entry fees, memberships, tickets), participant transport fares, or meals. These are personal costs unless your plan specifically funds them under an exceptional circumstances clause.

Travel time is sometimes billable if a worker travels more than 30 minutes to reach you — the rules are set by the NDIS Pricing Arrangements. We are transparent about travel billing before any shift starts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

No. Tegrity is paid directly from your NDIS plan, either by the NDIA (if you are agency-managed) or by your plan manager. You do not pay out of pocket. Before we begin, you will sign a service agreement that sets out the supports, rates, and billing arrangements.

Can rates change during my plan year?

Yes. If the NDIA updates the Pricing Arrangements during your plan year (which typically happens on 1 July), registered providers can apply updated rates from that date. We notify participants when rates change and update service agreements accordingly. Rates can only increase up to the new price limit — providers cannot charge above the maximum set by the NDIA.

What if my plan runs out of funds before the year ends?

If your Core Supports budget runs low, we will let you know. You have options: reduce shift frequency or duration for the remainder of the plan year, request an unscheduled plan review if your needs have significantly changed, or adjust the mix of activities to extend funding. Your support coordinator (if you have one) can help you model the options and decide the best course of action.

Does Tegrity charge the same rate for all participants?

Yes. We charge at the NDIS price limit for each support type — there is no variation based on individual circumstances. The rate that applies to you depends on the support category, the time and day of the shift, and whether the support is individual or group-based. Your service agreement will specify the exact rates before any support begins.
