NDIS support coordination in Sydney,
a coordinator who picks up.

Support coordination that turns your NDIS plan into supports that actually start. One named coordinator picks up the phone, presents every provider option (not just us), and explains things in plain English.

Grounded in practical NDIS-navigation experience from Dwayne Brown, Tegrity’s founder. We link rules and participant rights to their primary sources.

What support coordination does

Your plan, turned into real supports

NDIS support coordination — delivered by a disability support coordinator — is a funded support that helps you understand your NDIS plan and turn it into services that actually start. Your coordinator finds and connects the right providers across the full range of supports in your plan. They set up service agreements, stay on it until your supports are running, and help you navigate when things get hard.

Most providers list the tasks. What matters is the outcome: a plan that becomes real supports and real progress on achieving your goals — with one person who makes sure it happens.

Plan into action

Supports that start

We don't hand you a list of phone numbers to chase. We find, connect and set up the right supports, and follow through until they're actually running.

One person

A named coordinator

One primary coordinator who knows your plan and gets back to you, with a clear handover if availability changes. Not a call centre or rotating queue.

Transparent choice

Every suitable option considered

Because Tegrity also provides support work, we disclose that potential conflict. We present suitable providers beyond Tegrity and keep the decision with you. Ask for our written conflict-of-interest policy any time.

What's different about ours

Coordination that doesn't go quiet

If you've ever navigated the NDIS on your own, you know the pattern — referrals that go nowhere, coordinators who go quiet. We built ours to do the opposite.

Conflicts disclosedBecause Tegrity also provides support work, we disclose that potential conflict and present every suitable provider, not just our own services. Policy in writing on request.

Why our experience is relevant

Plan-side knowledge in the service design

Tegrity's founder spent two years as an NDIS Local Area Coordinator building plans. That experience informs how our Level 2 coordination service explains budgets, identifies gaps and translates funded supports into practical next steps.

It does not mean every coordinator has the same background: your support is delivered by the named coordinator assigned to you, with their role and experience explained before you decide.

2 years building NDIS plans as an LAC Since 2021 operating in Sydney 100+ participants supported across Tegrity services
Across our listed Sydney service areas

We provide NDIS support coordination services across 37 listed Sydney service areas — with a focus on the Inner West, City and Eastern Suburbs (including Redfern), and coordination capacity open across South-West Sydney, including Liverpool and Bankstown. We also offer a dedicated Aboriginal Support Coordination service. We're also a proudly Aboriginal-owned, culturally safe team — and everyone is welcome.

Support work vs support coordination

Two different supports — here's the difference

People often mix these up. In short: a support coordinator sets your plan up and connects services; a support worker delivers the hands-on support day to day.

Levels of support coordination

The three levels of NDIS support coordination, explained

NDIS plans fund coordination at three levels, and the wording in your plan tells you which one you have.

Level 1

Support connection

Short-term help to connect with your funded, mainstream and community supports — and to build your confidence to manage them yourself over time.

Level 2 · what this page describes

Support coordination

Also called "coordination of supports" — the level most plans fund. Your coordinator connects and sets up providers, sorts service agreements, and follows through until supports run. This is the support coordination Tegrity delivers across our listed Sydney service areas.

Level 3

Specialist support coordination

A higher-intensity service for complex, high-risk situations — usually delivered by coordinators with specialist qualifications, and funded at its own line in your plan.

Tegrity provides Level 2 coordination of supports only. If your plan funds specialist support coordination, we can help you understand what to look for and refer you to a suitably qualified Level 3 provider. Already have a coordinator and thinking about moving? Switching providers is your right — no NDIA approval needed.

Who does what

Support coordinator, plan manager, LAC — who does what?

Three different roles get mixed up constantly. Here's the short version — and how they fit together in one plan.

Support coordinator

Makes supports happen

Understands your plan, finds and connects providers, sorts service agreements, and follows through until supports actually run — then steps in when something wobbles. Funded from Capacity Building. This is the role Tegrity plays.

Plan manager

Pays the invoices

A plan manager looks after the money side — processing provider invoices and tracking your budgets. It's a separate item in your plan and a separate provider. Many participants have both: we coordinate, your plan manager pays. We work alongside them, not instead of them.

Local Area Coordinator

Plan basics, not ongoing coordination

LACs are NDIA partners who help you understand and start your plan — but they aren't funded for ongoing, hands-on coordination. If your plan funds support coordination, the NDIA has decided you need more than LAC-level help. That funded coordination is what this page is about.

One more role worth knowing: psychosocial disability plans sometimes fund a psychosocial recovery coach instead of — or occasionally alongside — support coordination. It's a related but distinct support. Tegrity also delivers recovery-focused psychosocial support, and if you're not sure which role your plan funds, call (02) 7265 1558 — we'll read it with you.

Getting started

Your first fortnight, mapped out

No mystery and no drift — this is what actually happens after you refer.

Day one

Clear next steps after you get in touch

Your referral receives a clear written next step — by a person, not an auto-reply — and we book an intro call at a time that suits you and your family.

First week

Your plan, in plain English

Your named coordinator walks through your plan with you — what's funded, what each budget can do, and what you actually want from it. You set the goals; we map supports to them.

First fortnight

Providers booked, not just discussed

We shortlist every suitable option — never just our own services — make the calls, and sort the service agreements, so your first supports are locked in with start dates.

From there, you have a named primary coordinator, regular check-ins and a clear handover if availability changes. We keep you informed about provider issues, new goals and plan changes. Ready to start? Start a referral or call (02) 7265 1558.

Common questions

Support coordination, answered

NDIS policy information reviewed 27 August 2026 against current NDIS participant guidance.

What is support coordination?

Support coordination is an NDIS-funded support that helps you understand your plan and put it into action. Rather than leaving you to find providers, compare options and chase paperwork alone, a coordinator does the connecting and follow-through for you across the range of supports your plan funds. It's paid from its own Capacity Building budget, so it doesn't eat into your day-to-day supports. Tegrity provides support coordination across our listed Sydney service areas and NSW.

What is a support coordinator?

A support coordinator is the person who makes your NDIS plan happen — they know the provider landscape, negotiate service agreements, and stay across your supports so problems get fixed before they grow. With Tegrity you get one named NDIS support coordinator in Sydney with a direct line, not a rotating call-centre queue.

What does an NDIS support coordinator do?

A support coordinator — sometimes called a disability support coordinator — helps you understand your NDIS plan and turn it into supports that actually start. That means finding and connecting providers, sorting service agreements, and following through until things are running. It covers the whole range of supports in a plan, including allied health — arranging occupational therapy, functional capacity assessments or assistive technology through the right providers. They also help you navigate when things get difficult.

What's the difference between support coordination and support work?

Support coordination sets your plan up and connects the right services; support work is the hands-on support delivered day to day. They're funded from different budgets — coordination from Capacity Building, support work from Core.

How much does support coordination cost?

Support coordination is charged per hour in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and billed against the Support Coordination budget in your plan, so it doesn't reduce your other supports. We put our rates in writing before anything starts.

Who pays for support coordination?

Your NDIS plan does — coordination is billed against the Support Coordination line in your Capacity Building budget, not your pocket. You don't pay anything out of pocket, and using coordination doesn't reduce the Core funding that pays for your day-to-day supports.

How do you manage conflicts of interest?

Tegrity provides both support coordination and support work, so we disclose that potential conflict clearly. Your coordinator presents every suitable provider option, not just Tegrity's own services, and the choice remains yours. Our conflict-of-interest policy is available in writing on request.

Are Tegrity's support coordinators NDIS registered?

Yes — Tegrity Services is a registered NDIS provider (registration no. 4050099017) delivering support coordination under the NDIS Practice Standards. For coordination, registration means audited quality systems, a written conflict-of-interest policy and accountability to the NDIS Commission — worth checking whichever coordinator you choose.

How do I get support coordination in my NDIS plan?

Support coordination has to be funded in your plan, usually under Capacity Building. If it is there, the NDIS says you can search by suburb and the level in your plan, speak with a coordinator before signing, then agree how the service will work. See the official five-step guide to finding a support coordinator. If coordination is not in your plan, raise it at your next plan reassessment — our NDIS plan reassessment guide explains how to prepare and what evidence to gather.

What areas in Sydney do you cover for support coordination?

Comparing NDIS support coordination providers in Sydney, or searching for a coordinator near you? We provide Level 2 support coordination in our 37 listed Sydney service areas, including the Inner West, City, Eastern Suburbs, South-West, St George and Sutherland Shire. Ask us to confirm current capacity and participant fit.

What is specialist support coordination?

Specialist support coordination is the NDIS's Level 3 coordination support for complex or high-risk situations that need a suitably qualified specialist. Tegrity provides Level 2 coordination of supports only. If your plan funds Level 3, we can help you understand what to look for and refer you to a specialist provider.

Can I change my support coordinator?

Yes — you can change support coordination providers at any time. It's your plan and your choice, and no NDIA approval is needed. Check the notice period in your current service agreement, then make the switch; we coordinate the handover so nothing drops. The same applies whether you're moving to Tegrity or away from us.

Is support coordination being phased out?

Not now. Support coordination remains a funded NDIS support, and the NDIS says participants can still ask for it in their plan. The legislation passed on 19 August 2026 sets an official timeline for a new commissioned support coordination and connection function from July 2028; it does not remove support coordination from current plans today. See the NDIS's implementation timeline. We will update this answer as the NDIA publishes transition details.

What's the difference between a support coordinator and a plan manager?

They handle different halves of your plan. A support coordinator finds, connects and manages your supports; a plan manager processes provider invoices and tracks your budgets. They're funded from different parts of your plan, and you can have both at once — many of our participants do. We work alongside your plan manager: we coordinate, they pay.

How many hours of support coordination will I get?

Your plan funds a set amount for support coordination, and that amount sets the hours — it varies from plan to plan depending on your situation and goals. We agree upfront how your hours will be used, bill only for coordination work actually done, and tell you where the hours are going, so the budget lasts the plan period.

What should I look for when choosing a support coordinator?

Four things separate good coordinators. Independence — they show you every option, not just their own services. Responsiveness — test it: how fast did they answer your first enquiry? Real knowledge of Sydney providers with actual capacity. And one named person rather than a rotating pool. Red flags: only referring in-house, going quiet for weeks, or not explaining your plan in plain English. Ask any coordinator about all four before signing — including us.

How do I find an NDIS support coordinator in Sydney?

Three reliable routes: search the NDIS Provider Finder for coordinators covering your suburb, ask your LAC or planner for local options, or contact providers directly and test how quickly a real person responds. Whichever route you take, speak with the coordinator who would actually manage your plan before you sign anything — or skip the search and call us on (02) 7265 1558.

Is Tegrity also a plan manager or a therapy provider?

No — Tegrity delivers NDIS support coordination and support work only. We're not plan managers, and we don't deliver occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). That separation works in your favour: your coordinator presents every suitable provider for those supports and follows through until they start, with no incentive to keep services in-house.

An honest fit check

Who we're right for — and who we're not

No coordinator suits everyone. Here's the straight answer, so you don't have to spend a phone call finding out.

We're likely a strong fit if
  • Your plan funds Level 2 support coordination and you want one named primary contact with a direct line and a clear handover if availability changes.
  • You want your plan explained in plain English, with every suitable provider on the table — never just ours.
  • You want culturally safe coordination from an Aboriginal-owned team, including dedicated Aboriginal support coordination.
  • You're in Sydney — Inner West, City, Eastern Suburbs, South-West Sydney, or anywhere else across the city — and by phone and video, anywhere in NSW.
We're not the right provider if
  • You need a plan manager. That's a different role — a plan manager pays invoices and tracks budgets, a coordinator connects supports. Many participants have both, and we work alongside yours.
  • Your plan funds Level 3 specialist support coordination. We deliver Level 2 coordination of supports only, and we will help you connect with a suitably qualified specialist provider.
  • You need therapy or allied health delivered — occupational therapy, physio, psychology — or SIL/SDA housing supports. We don't deliver those; your coordinator's job is connecting you with the right providers who do.
  • You're well outside Sydney — we'll suggest a coordinator closer to home.

Not sure which side you land on? Call (02) 7265 1558 — we'll tell you straight, and if we're not the right fit we'll point you to someone who is.
