NDIS price changes from 1 July 2026: what it means for you

Every year the NDIS updates its prices, and the new NDIS Pricing Schedule took effect on 1 July 2026. If you have heard something changed and you are not sure what it means for your plan, here is the plain-English version — including the important bits that stay the same.

What actually changed?

The NDIS updated the maximum prices for some supports and services as part of its Annual Pricing Review. Some prices went up, some went down, and some stayed put.

If you had an approved plan up to 30 June 2026, the unspent funding in some categories was automatically updated to the new prices. That happened on 4 July, but was backdated to 1 July, so you are covered from the start of the month. You did not need to do anything for this to apply.

Will my funding go down?

No. This is the key reassurance: where a price decreased, your plan funding was not reduced. You are protected, and you can keep accessing the supports you rely on.

Do I need to do anything?

For most people, no. But a couple of things are worth knowing:

  • If a provider wants to change the prices in your service agreement, they must discuss it with you first — and you have to agree to any change. Nothing changes behind your back.
  • If you are unsure whether your plan still covers what you need at the new prices, that is a good conversation to have with your support coordinator.

Not sure how this affects your plan?

This is exactly what a good support coordinator is for — making sense of the numbers so you do not have to. We can look at your plan with you, check your supports still line up with your funding, and sort out any service-agreement questions.
