What we offer

Why people stay with Tegrity

Here is what to expect when applying for casual support work with Tegrity.

Weekday opportunities

Work is mainly on weekdays, with potential weekend shifts. Tell us your available days and times so we can consider you for suitable work.

Genuine team culture

You will know everyone, be known by everyone, and have direct access to the coordinator if something comes up.

Support when you need it

We do not leave workers to figure difficult situations out alone. Coordinators are available and responsive.

SCHADS Level 2.1

Level 2, Pay Point 1, with casual loading, applicable penalty rates and superannuation. We explain the hourly rates and terms during recruitment.

Meaningful work

The participants we support are real people with real goals. You will see the difference you make — not just be a number in a shift-matching algorithm.

The role

What the role involves

As a support worker at Tegrity, you will provide direct, person-centred support to adults with disability. Every participant has different goals, but most of our support work falls into three areas.

01

Community participation

Getting participants out into the community — markets, swimming, parks, social activities, the Wednesday rec group. Building confidence and connection through regular, consistent outings.

02

Daily living assistance

Helping participants with morning and evening routines, meal preparation, household tasks, and keeping on top of appointments. Done with, not for.

03

Social support and skill building

Spending time with participants, building relationship and trust, helping them develop independence in areas they want to grow.

Who you’ll support. We work with participants with a range of disability types, including psychosocial disability (mental health conditions), intellectual disability, autism, acquired brain injury, and physical disability. A background in or comfort with psychosocial support is particularly valued.

How shifts work. These are casual positions, mainly on weekdays with potential weekend work. Available shifts depend on participant needs and your availability; a particular number of hours is not guaranteed.

Your local role

The role may involve accompanying a participant to appointments or activities, assisting with everyday routines and supporting social connection. Each person's choices and goals shape the support; specific duties are discussed before a match.

Requirements

What we are looking for

Checks not in place yet? That is fine — tell us where you are in the process and we can guide you.

Essential qualifications and checks

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (or Certificate IV, or equivalent qualification in disability, aged care, community services, or mental health)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain one — we can guide you through the process)
  • Working With Children Check (NSW)
  • National Police Check (dated within 3 years)
  • Current first aid certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred for most roles)

Qualities we value

Reliability
Participants plan their lives around your shift. Turning up on time, every time, is the foundation of good support work.
Patience and flexibility
Good days and harder days are both part of the role. The ability to follow a participant’s lead — and pace things accordingly — matters more than a rigid plan.
Genuine interest in the people you support
We notice quickly when a worker sees a shift as transactional. Our participants deserve better than that.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
We support participants from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Cultural humility and respect are non-negotiable.

NDIS experience is preferred, not essential. Everyone is welcome to apply, including people new to disability support work. Tell us about your relevant skills and experience. Required checks and role requirements must still be met before starting work.

Aboriginal-owned

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers

Tegrity is Aboriginal-owned and the Aboriginal community is central to who we are and what we do. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply for support worker and coordination roles. Lived experience of community, culture, and Country is a genuine asset in this work — not something to be retrofitted by training.

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve, and to creating an environment where Aboriginal workers are supported, valued, and able to bring their whole selves to the role.
