If you haven't tried it yet — pickleball is the fastest-growing sport going around, and it turns out it's perfect for our crew. It's part tennis, part table tennis, easy to pick up, and you're rallying and laughing within minutes. No experience needed, every ability welcome.
We headed to the courts at Pickle Point Sydney for a morning of social games. Some came to play hard, some came for the company and a sit in the sun — both are exactly the point. The Wednesday rec group is about getting out, staying active and being part of something, at whatever pace suits you.
Why we do days like this
Getting active and social can relate to a participant's NDIS goals under community participation. The official NDIS support-budget guide lists assistance with social and community participation as a support category, but whether support-worker time for an outing can be claimed depends on the participant's plan and funding rules. Entry fees, food and ordinary recreation costs are generally separate personal expenses unless the plan or current NDIS rules say otherwise.
- Held at Pickle Point Sydney, with the rec group
- All abilities welcome — no experience needed
- Support-worker time may be funded when it fits your plan
- Ask us about the next outing and current group capacity
Want to come along to the next one? It's the easiest, lowest-pressure way to meet our team before anything formal starts. Have a look at the rec group, or send a referral and we'll confirm receipt and explain the next step.
