Game on: pickleball with the rec group

This week our rec group swapped the usual for paddles and took on pickleball at Pickle Point Sydney — and it was a hit.

If you haven't tried it yet — pickleball is the fastest-growing sport going around, and it turns out it's perfect for our crew. It's part tennis, part table tennis, easy to pick up, and you're rallying and laughing within minutes. No experience needed, every ability welcome.

We headed to the courts at Pickle Point Sydney for a morning of social games. Some came to play hard, some came for the company and a sit in the sun — both are exactly the point. The Wednesday rec group is about getting out, staying active and being part of something, at whatever pace suits you.

Why we do days like this

Getting active and social isn't just a nice day out — it's a real part of many people's NDIS goals under community participation (Increased Social and Community Participation). Activities like pickleball build confidence, connection and fitness, and for most participants they can be funded through the Core supports budget.

Want to come along to the next one? It's the easiest, lowest-pressure way to meet our team before anything formal starts. Have a look at the rec group, or send a referral and we'll be in touch the same business day.
