Every Wednesday,
we head out together.
Not an activity sheet. Real outings, the same group of faces, every week. The Wednesday rec group has been running continuously for several years — beach walks, bowling, museum days, ferry trips, and everything in between.
What it is
Every Wednesday, a group of NDIS participants and Tegrity workers head out somewhere together. The destination changes. The group doesn’t. You will see the same faces week after week — that’s the point. Community support that actually builds community, rather than just ticking the box.
There is no “program” in the structured-activities sense. Outings are chosen based on what the group enjoys. We have been to Darling Harbour, the Art Gallery of NSW, Newtown, Marrickville, Leichhardt, Bankstown, Tempe, Botany, Bondi beach, and the Manly ferry — among many others. Some weeks it’s bowling. Some weeks it’s a barbecue by the water. Footy games when the season runs.
Who it’s for
The Wednesday rec group is open to current Tegrity participants and to new faces. If you are trying to decide whether Tegrity is the right fit, joining a Wednesday outing is the lowest-pressure way to meet us. You come along, see how we work, meet the workers and participants, and there is no commitment required. Several of our longest-running participants started with a Wednesday outing before signing a service agreement.
The group is designed for adults with NDIS plans who want regular social activities and community access — not as a replacement for individual support work, but as a complement to it. If you’re still setting up your plan, our support coordination team can help you build the group into it.

How is it funded?
Wednesday rec group outings are funded through your NDIS Core budget under community participation support (NDIS item code 04_ Direct Support category). If you have Core funding for social and community participation, this is one of the best ways to use it. Your plan manager can confirm your eligibility from your plan document. If you’re not sure, call us and we’ll check it together.
